  • 5 WAYS TO ACHIEVE NATURALLY GORGEOUS HAIR

With the release of our NEW RANGE OF ALL NATURAL SHAMPOO we wanted to compile a list of The Australian Natural Soap Company's favourite ways you can achieve NATURALLY gorgeous locks without harming yourself or the environment.

    1. SWITCH TO A NATURAL SHAMPOO

We get asked about our natural bar shampoo ALL. THE. TIME in store - how to use it? Do you really NOT need conditioner? Will it make my hair greasy? Dry? Is it ok for a sensitive scalp? Is it good for dry hair? Oily hair? What if you have a combination, oily roots and dry ends?

Most people have found that after switching to our natural shampoo bar they have experienced more volume and body, faster growing hair, less dandruff, and (for my curly haired brothers and sisters) defined curls. HERE’S WHY - Natural shampoo bars do not contain harmful chemical and lathering agents that strip your hair of it natural oils (the reason you need to use conditioner in the first place) and could be the culprit to a dry itchy scalp, brittle hair and even hair loss, especially if you’re washing with these nasty chemicals daily!

We now have a shampoo bar for every hair type:

    The Original

    Shampoo for oily hair

    Shampoo for dry hair

    Shampoo for sensitive scalp

    2. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND EAT YOUR VEGETABLES

I think we are all well aware of this one - our favourite hair happy foods are biotin full almonds, beta carotene rich sweet potatoes, and leafy green veggies that are high in Vitamin A!

    3. NATURAL, VEGAN AND NO FUSS HAIR MASKS!

For hair happy healthy hair we recommend treating your locks to a moisture kick in the form of one ingredient hair masks!

NUTS FOR COCONUT MASK - What’s it good for? What isn’t it good for! Warm coconut oil and apply to your hair from top to bottom concentrating on your ends and leaving your roots if you are prone to oily hair. Cover with a warm towel or shower cap and leave on for 15-20 minutes.

LIQUID GOLD MASK - Otherwise known as argan oil. A few drops of this beautiful oil can help repair damage, and restore moisture to dry and brittle hair. Rub a few drops between your hands and distribute evenly on damp or dry hair, avoiding the roots and leave in all day.

I LOVE OLIVE MASK - Olive oil is rich in moisturising properties and is a wonderful heat protectant. Warm a couple of tablespoons and leave in your hair for 20-30 minutes before washing.

    4. SNOOZE YOUR WAY TO SILKY STRANDS

Your hair and skin are a reflection of the anxiety and stress inside, so make it a point to get your eight hours every night - not only will you feel better because of it but you’ll look better too!

    5. LET YOUR HAIR DRY NATURALLY

No surprises here, heat is a major factor for dry, brittle and breakage prone hair. We recommend letting your hair air dry whenever possible. Or if you do need to pull out the hair dryer or hot styling tool remember to use the low heat option and follow up the next day with an oil mask.

For those of you afraid of the dreaded PURGE, dun dun dun...

There will be a time when you are switching over from your chemical laced products to an all natural regime that many have dubbed the terrifying PURGE. It lasts between 1-6 weeks, depending on the person, and in that time your hair can flip flop from dry to oily and back again all in the space of a day. But after the purge, when the storm clouds have parted, you will be left with naturally gorgeous healthy hair that’s not only cheaper to maintain but also a wonderful way to cut back on environment destroying products and chemicals! It’s a win win WIN situation!

  • HOW TO CURE ACNE NATURALLY!

Acne plain old sucks, there’s no two ways about it, but atleast we can commiserate together – 80% of people between the ages of 11 and 30 will have acne at some point in their lives, it’s the most common skin disease in the world! So, if you’re cabinets are lined with a multitude of different lotions, potions, serums, and creams, yet still seem to be fighting a losing battle against your skin (and probably your wallet) you need to keep reading!

At ANSC we know that acne is not only caused by what you put on your skin but also by what you put in your body - a combination of a healthy diet, simple natural products, and hydration are likely the cure to your pimply problem.

Tea Tree Oil and Tea Tree Soap

Tea tree is a natural antiseptic and has unique disinfecting and soothing properties that, unlike a lot of other acne treatments, won’t strip your skin. Use our Tea Tree soap as a face and body cleanser and use our tea tree oil (mixed with rice bran oil which won’t irritate the skin or block pores) as a spot treatment.

    Green Tea

Green Tea is known for treating spikes in insulin and blood sugar levels, two things that are considered to create acne. Drinking Green Tea for acne can reduce inflammation, calm the skin, and it’s soothing properties have the ability to minimize the appearance of pimples.

    Intensive Skin Drops - Acne

A light moisturising oil with natural antibacterial properties of tea tree and avocado can help prevent breakouts by keeping the skin clean and balanced without drying it out.

    H2o

Have you drunk your eight glasses today? This one is common knowledge, and an easy change you can make in your day! Water is wonderful at flushing out impurities and cleansing you cells of built up waste.

    Activated Charcoal Soap

Want to stop pimples and blackheads in their tracks? We have the answer, our natural beauty Queen's number one defence is the Activated Charcoal Cleanser, it basically works as a magnet on your skin by drawing out and trapping toxins in its miniscule pores.

    Zinc Therapy

What can’t this little bottle of heaven do? Inflammatory damage to sebum is one of the major reasons we get acne, enter zinc, a powerful antioxidant, known to calm inflammation and protect the skin. We recommend you use our zinc therapy treatment as a spot treatment or overnight mask.

  • 5 Ways To Convert A Soap Dodger

Soap dodgers. Whether you are one, you know one or you are trying to raise one… We get it. After switching over to all natural skin care, the thought of using commercial products makes us cringe! More often than not they dry out your skin and cause uncomfortable irritation. Soap is one the worst culprits - so it’s no wonder that people are trying to dodge it!

We often hear from customers that their children don’t like washing with soap (you’re not alone!) so we thought we would write up some helpful suggestions for you on how to convert them to the clean team!

    1. Buy natural soap. In case you missed that point, using only natural ingredients on the skin will greatly reduce the occurrence of irritation and makes for a much more pleasant experience - for us and for the planet! If your child is a conscious consumer at all, perhaps they can be swayed by knowing they are supporting a good cause like The Orangutan Project by using our tester soaps or our Donation Soap.
    2. Fun (but safe) scents and colours. We have a few deliciously scented soaps that are a big hit with kids such as lemon & lime, liquorice allsorts, spearmint and cinnamon which are all scented with pure essential oils instead of artificial fragrances, which are known skin irritants. We also have some brightly coloured soaps like the pink clay, coloured only by natural clay with a yummy lemongrass scent, and the bright green of our avocado soap which is unscented, so it’s perfect for those who are dodging strong smells!
    3. Let them buy their own soap. Bring them into the store and let them wander around for a good sniff! There are around 50 types of soap to choose from and kids love to explore the different types and find their personal favourite. Giving them the money to pay for it also enforces that it is their special soap and they will feel good about taking it home to use it.
    4. Liquid soap. Maybe they don’t like holding the slippery bars of soap and simply prefer something they can’t drop! Use it straight from the hands or pump some onto a cloth or loofah to create a more satisfying lather. We have four types of liquid soaps, including the warming scent of cinnamon & spearmint, and the fresh minty scent of lavender, eucalyptus & peppermint.
    5. Let boys be boys. Beer soap is a winner for teenage boys who can’t yet drink the stuff, but get a kick out of knowing they are using it to get clean! Beer is actually a great natural ingredient and makes a very gentle, softening soap (just don’t tell them that!).

We believe everyone can become a soap lover if they just try the right soap. Bathing should be a good experience, we do it every day, after all! So let’s help those soap dodgers find their happy place in the shower - shop natural soap now at theansc.com.au
